Travel in the DC area can be challenging, even for the locals! Always plan extra time, especially if you are going into the District. Metro is a great way to travel into the District and a Metro Planner link can be found here. Are you interested in seeing the city by bike? DC, Alexandria, and Arlington are bicycle friendly cities and are serviced by Capital Bike Share. This is a great way to see the sites! Rent a bike for an hour or a day and drop it off at any of the 300 stations in the area. Very well maintained and very popular. TOLL ROADS - If you are not from this area, DC has numerous HOV lanes which require an EZPass or EZPass Flex at all hours. This is not necessary. To avoid this, just set your GPS to "Avoid Tolls" and give your wallet a break. :) |
